Introduction to Cerebrum Reminder Services
Cerebrum offers a Reminder Services add-on feature designed to help clinics reduce no-shows by sending automated text, email, and voice reminders to patients. This service ensures patients are well-informed about their upcoming appointments and provides them with a convenient way to confirm their attendance.
Cost of Service
- Per Message Cost: Each message sent (text or email) costs $0.15, regardless of the message type.
- AwareMD ASP Service: If your clinic utilizes the Cerebrum ASP service, please note that text messages may incur additional charges. Refer to your AwareMD agreement for specific cost details.
Supported Reminder Methods
Cerebrum supports sending appointment reminders through the following channels:
- Email: Sent to the patient's email address.
- Text (SMS/MMS): Sent to the patient's primary cell phone number.
- Voice (Telephone): Automated voice calls to the patient's home phone number.
All of the above contact information for the patient is derived from the Add/Edit Patient page.
Important Note on Multiple Contact Details:
If a patient's profile contains all three contact details (email, phone, and mobile number), they will automatically receive reminders via all configured channels.
Reminder Timing and Logic
Cerebrum allows clinics to send up to two appointment reminders per contact method. These reminders are scheduled based on a configurable number of days before the appointment.
- Automated Delivery: Reminders are sent automatically according to the schedule you configure.
- Confirmation Suspension: Once a patient confirms their appointment, appointment confirmation status updates on the Daysheet, and all further reminders for that specific appointment are suspended .
- Same-Day Reminders: If two reminders are scheduled for the same day, both will be sent, even if the first reminder has been acknowledged by the patient.
Best Practice:
To optimize patient communication and avoid overwhelming them with multiple messages, it is recommended to use staggered schedules across different communication methods.
