The Multiple Appointments Per Day feature allows practices to send a single email reminder to patients who have more than one appointment scheduled on the same day. When the keyword {{multipleAppointmentsPerDay}} is used in an email reminder template, the system automatically lists all appointments for that patient on that date, along with the relevant test names and test instructions.
This feature is most effective for email reminders and not recommended when using other reminder channels (text and voice).
What the Keyword Does
When {{multipleAppointmentsPerDay}} is inserted into the email reminder template, it automatically:
Displays each appointment as a separate bullet point.
-
Includes:
Appointment Date
Appointment Time
Test Full Name
Test Instructions (each appointment’s instructions display in separate paragraphs)
Adds all related appointment details without needing to manually include:
{{appointmentDate}},{{appointmentTime}}, or{{testFullName}}.
Behaviour When Patients Have One Appointment
If a patient has only one appointment that day:
They still receive the reminder.
The reminder still functions normally.
The confirmation link continues to work as usual.
Behaviour When Patients Have Multiple Appointments
If a patient has more than one appointment on the same day:
All appointments will be listed in the reminder.
The patient will receive one single confirmation link, which confirms all appointments for that day.
Test instructions for all appointments will appear.
Each appointment’s details appear as separate bullet points and paragraphs.
Best Practices
Use this feature only for email reminders, not recommended for text and voice reminders.
Remove instructions referring to “instructions below” unless additional content is actually included.
For previewing the email, schedule a test patient appointment (the reminder system does not support “test send” functionality).
Where to Insert the Keyword
Insert {{multipleAppointmentsPerDay}} exactly where you want the list of daily appointments to appear.
This replaces the need for individual appointment keywords such as:
{{appointmentDate}}{{appointmentTime}}{{testFullName}}
Do not include these when using the {{multipleAppointmentsPerDay}} keyword.
